This butcher shop was opposite where King’s the butcher was. It is on the corner of the Butter Market. These buildings were demolished and replaced by what is now the Chinese Takeaway and the hairdressers (2017) The photograph was taken somewhere between 1850 and the 1880s. The name of the butcher is unknown. Notice the early gas lamp and the meat hanging outside the shop.
